COVID-19 Update

27 September 2020 — Overnight tent camping at Camp Workcoeman resumes 8 October (more info).

23 September 2020Registration is now open for an October Trail to Eagle weekend.

25 August 2020Camp Workcoeman in open in a limited capacity, but there will be no camping until further notice.

21 June 2020 — As of 17 June 2020, units in the Connecticut Rivers Council can resume in-person activities per updated state guidance. Please see ctscouting.org for full details.

The Citizens of Shawtown is Camp Workcoeman’s volunteer support organization, which works throughout the year to provide instructional support for camp programs and to organize, fund, and carry out maintenance projects.

About Camp

Camp Workcoeman is located in the hills of northwest Connecticut in scenic New Hartford and Barkhamsted. The camp consists of approximately 427 acres on the shore of beautiful West Hill Pond, possibly the cleanest in Connecticut.

Established in 1924, it is one of the oldest continuously operated Scout camps in the country. For 96 years, thousands of Scouts and Scouters have had unforgettable Scouting experiences at Camp Workcoeman. This fine tradition of Scouting continues today.
