Annual Steak or Chicken Barbecue

Camp Workcoeman’s annual Steak or Chicken Barbecue will be held on Saturday, May 9. Sponsored by the Citizens of Shawtown, all proceeds will benefit camp improvement projects. The cost is $25 for adults and $13 for children ten and under. For more information, see this flier. Make your reservation online today!

Planning Meetings

The 2015 Boy Scout pre-camp planning meetings will be Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 16. All pre-camp planning information will be discussed related to programs, medical form requirements, and the Sunday check-in process. All troops should be represented at one of these meetings.

2015 Specialty Camps

In addition to our annual Trail to Eagle program, Camp Workcoeman is please to offer a number of other specialty camps this year, such as Emergency & Medical Services Camp, Shooting Sports Camp, Workcoeman Wilderness Experience, PADI Scuba Certification Week, and Horsemanship Camp. STEM Day

As part of the Connecticut Rivers Council STEM Merit Badge Experience, the Archery, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, and Wood Carving merit badges will be offered at Camp Workcoeman on Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

About Camp

Camp Workcoeman is located in the hills of northwest Connecticut in scenic New Hartford and Barkhamsted. The camp consists of approximately 427 acres on the shore of beautiful West Hill Pond, possibly the cleanest in Connecticut.

Established in 1924, it is one of the oldest continuously operated Scout camps in the country. For 100 years, thousands of Scouts and Scouters have had unforgettable Scouting experiences at Camp Workcoeman. This fine tradition of Scouting continues today.
