The Citizens of Shawtown, Camp Workcoeman’s Support Committee, is pleased to announce that the annual Steak or Chicken Barbecue will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the camp dining hall. Dinner begins at 6 PM with hors d'oeuvres at 5:30 PM. The cost is $25 for adults and $13 for children 10 and under with all proceeds benefiting camp improvement projects. Camp Workcoeman is located in the hills of northwest Connecticut in scenic New Hartford and Barkhamsted. The camp consists of approximately 427 acres on the shore of beautiful West Hill Pond, possibly the cleanest in Connecticut.
Established in 1924, it is one of the oldest continuously operated Scout camps in the country. For 100 years, thousands of Scouts and Scouters have had unforgettable Scouting experiences at Camp Workcoeman. This fine tradition of Scouting continues today.
