4 December 2022 — A variety of day and weekend Scouting programs are planned for this winter and spring at Camp Workcoeman. These activities include both Scouts BSA and Cub Scout events as well as adult Scouter training opportunities.
Come join us at Camp Workcoeman for the “first-ever” Powder Horn experience in the Connecticut Rivers Council. The course is scheduled for this summer on July 30 to August 4. The vast list of course experiences will include shooting sports (including pistol shooting and muzzle-loading), Discover SCUBA, Fly Fishing, “Sailing the Big Boats,” COPE & Climbing, and other high-adventure opportunities. The course is open to youth 14 and up as well as adults!
Powder Horn is a course designed to introduce Scouting’s adults and youth to resources for making exciting high-adventure programs successful for their units. The course provides units the ability to achieve the mission of the Boy Scouts of America.
All Scouts 14 and up as well as Scouters from any council are invited to attend this dynamic program!
Time: 11:00 AM, Sunday, July 30 – 4:00 PM, Friday, August 4
Cost: $350 per participant

Camp Workcoeman is located in the hills of northwest Connecticut in scenic New Hartford and Barkhamsted. The camp consists of approximately 427 acres on the shore of beautiful West Hill Pond, possibly the cleanest in Connecticut.
Established in 1924, it is one of the oldest continuously operated Scout camps in the country. For 99 years, thousands of Scouts and Scouters have had unforgettable Scouting experiences at Camp Workcoeman. This fine tradition of Scouting continues today.
